our story
Alicia’s passion for food, family, and good cooking began working along side her father, Rudy Perez. Rudy’s Mexicatessen was an icon in Whittier and Brea for over 45 years and where Alicia began her catering career. In 1978 with the encouragement of her father, Alicia opened her first restaurant. While the catering business is where her journey began, Alicia’s is now highly recognized for its amazing sandwiches, soups, salads, and dinners to go.
With over 40 years in the restaurant business, Alicia has been blessed with her loyal customers and amazing staff. Throughout the years her 3 daughters have all played a major role in the success of her business. Desiree, her youngest daughter is now the driving force behind the business.
The Alicia’s team works tirelessly to ensure that Alicia’s continues to provide our community with the highest quality of handmade food, unique and quality merchandise, and a commitment to provide thoughtful and attentive service. Alicia continues to play a vital role in the day to day operations, providing new ideas, inspiration for menus, and of course to see her beloved customers.
